Howard Brown, B.Journ, CAAP, APR
President


Howard Brown is the President of Brown & Cohen Communications & Public Affairs Inc. Founded in 1991, Brown & Cohen provides media and government relations solutions to companies and associations to increase their revenue and membership base.

He has worked with over 175 organizations across Canada and the US including the Professional Engineers of Ontario, the Toronto Board of Trade, the Canadian Chemical Producers Association, Toronto and Region Conservation Authority and Consulting Engineers of Ontario.

Previously, he served in such posts as Director of Marketing for Royal LePage Residential Real Estate Services, Special Assistant to the Minister of Regional Economic Expansion and Ontario Policy Chair for the Liberal Party of Canada.

He is a Member of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Club of Toronto and a Member of the Board of Governors at Mt. Sinai Hospital. He was the first City of Toronto appointee to the Board of the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. He has been published in the Globe and Mail, Toronto Star and many other publications. As well, he is a recipient of the Canada 125 Governor-General’s Medal.

Mr. Brown has a Bachelor of Journalism from Ryerson University in Toronto, has a Certified Advertising Agency Practitioner diploma from the Institute of Canadian Advertising and has been designated as an Accredited Public Relations professional by the Canadian Public Relations Society.



Kimberly Cohen, MBA
CEO

Kimberly has worked with clients across North America in the health care, not-for-profit, finance, education, hospitality, manufacturing and IT industries with fifteen years of experience helping businesses increase their revenue base and profile through brand-building campaigns using media, government and stakeholder communications, social media, and crisis and issues management. 

A former media commentator for CTV NewsNet during the 2006 federal election, Kim has also been published in Marketing and Strategy magazines and guest lecturer at Ryerson University, Centennial College and Humber College.

A founding member of the Brain Injury Association of Canada’s Hawaiian Oyster Odyssey, Kim has secured major national sponsors such as Diageo, Apotex and Bombardier. The event is now held in every province across Canada.

She is a member of the Board of Directors for the Toronto Humane Society (newly elected 2010 board) and former board member of the Rotman School of Business Alumni Association, University of Toronto, 2007-2009 and Big Sisters of Toronto, 1997-1999.

Kim is also a member of The Toronto Board of Trade, serving on the Professional Development & Management Committee and co-chaired a financial forum with key media commentator Ellen Roseman of the Toronto Star for Toronto Israel Bonds Women's Division from 2009 to present.

Having previously held communications positions at WWDB Talk Radio (an ABC Affiliate) and WPHL TV-17, both in Philadelphia, Kim is also a former communications and marketing professional for the American Red Cross, Project SEED (a U.S. national mathematics organization) and the Philadelphia Convention Center.

Ms. Cohen has an MBA from the University of Toronto and BA from George Washington University.
